Qualifications:8-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Comprehensive experience in HVAC and hydronic system design. Preferred qualifications include experience with geothermal or district energy systems. Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD. A New York State Professional Engineer’s license is a plus. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Join our dynamic team at LaBella Associates as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Building Engineering Division, specializing in Energy Infrastructure. Located in our Poughkeepsie, NY office, you will play a crucial role in advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.

The Energy Infrastructure team is dedicated to delivering top-notch consultancy services, including feasibility analyses and the design of mechanical systems. Our engineers are experts in building and energy systems design, working on a wide range of projects from new constructions to renovations and design/build ventures for diverse clientele.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead various decarbonization and electrification projects, guiding them from feasibility studies through to design and construction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork abilities, mentor junior engineers, and effectively communicate with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of HVAC systems and district energy systems.
  • Conduct field investigations to assess existing conditions.
  • Perform selection and calculations for design purposes.
  • Collaborate with junior engineers to develop and review project drawings and documentation.
  • Engage directly with clients, analyzing design options and cost-benefit comparisons to aid in their decision-making processes.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and utility requirements.
