Qualifications:A minimum of ten years of experience with various CAD platforms. Experience as a Survey Crew Chief and the ability to pursue licensure as a Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT), with future licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) being advantageous. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with the Trimble family of surveying equipment is a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and Inroads software is advantageous. Ability to interpret design and construction plans effectively. Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team. Must maintain a valid driver's license in good standing and be able to operate company-owned vehicles. Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Join our dynamic team at LaBella Associates as a Senior CAD Technician in Latham, NY! In this pivotal role, you will engage in a variety of survey work encompassing topographic and boundary surveying, construction staking, structure monitoring, and more, all in support of land surveying, civil engineering, architectural, and environmental projects. Collaborating closely with Licensed Professional Surveyors, you will contribute significantly to our projects' success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily an office-based role with occasional field assignments.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data while performing accurate calculations necessary for successful surveys.
  • Conduct data reduction analysis, computations, and mapping.
  • Oversee CAD document preparation by technical staff, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Engage in records research, drafting, and technical report writing and review.
  • Prepare cost estimates and provide assistance with proposals.
  • Coordinate schedules and assignments for office staff.
  • Lead the office team to meet client and project goals.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and coach junior office and field staff.
  • Maintain daily communication with department managers, field coordinators, project managers, and other office personnel to align on project objectives, challenges, schedules, budgets, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the field coordinator to maintain calibration logs for survey equipment.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge regarding advancements in technology, equipment, and software.
  • Operate modern survey technology, including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAV, high-definition scanners, and data collection devices.
  • Adhere to all safety practices in land surveying.
  • Foster strong client relationships.
