We are on the lookout for a Risk Specialist, Brand and Compliance (Senior Associate) who will report directly to the Director of Risk, Brand and Compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring that our merchant accounts align with compliance standards and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate high-risk merchant applications to pinpoint potential regulatory and compliance risks.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of merchant accounts to ensure compliance with expectations and to mitigate unknown risks related to compliance or money laundering.
  • Organize and manage daily tasks within the team, delegating work as necessary.
  • Perform second-line reviews of evaluations completed by the team when needed.
  • Analyze merchants’ financial conditions through comprehensive financial statement analysis and establish appropriate collateral levels to reduce financial risk.
  • Communicate regularly with various departments to articulate the risks associated with new and existing merchants.
  • Manage portfolio investigations upon receiving communications from card schemes, verifying alerts' validity, and advising on the best course of action.
  • Generate routine reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update and maintain Credit Risk Assessments as per the company's Credit Risk and Risk Appetite Policy.
  • Formulate new monitoring frameworks to detect negative trends effectively.
