Join LaBella Associates as a Protection and Control Engineer in our esteemed Program Management Services Division, located at our client's office in Orange, Connecticut.

Our Program Management Services Division excels in delivering comprehensive management solutions for intricate projects and extensive capital programs. Our project teams are designed to offer a tailored blend of business consulting, project management, financial oversight, administrative, and technical support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of existing protection schemes to integrate them into new designs, focusing on anti-islanding schemes, generator intertie settings, and SPS schemes to maintain required protections.
  • Oversee the protection design for all capital projects, ensuring relay protection functionality aligns with AVANGRID TM standards.
  • Analyze contractor-provided relay settings, logic diagrams, and operational descriptions for all projects.
  • Perform area relay coordination assessments based on variations in fault duty and system performance due to project modifications.
  • Review relay settings for temporary builds and construction phases, including mobile settings.
  • Contribute to Owner’s Aspen model adjustments for specific capital projects.
  • Support design implementation, testing, and commissioning of all related systems.
  • Provide insights to refine Owner's design practices and ensure proper filing of as-built documentation.
  • Lead automation and integration design for capital projects, including reviewing SCADA point indexes and HMI screens/settings.
  • Create operational descriptions for substations, ensuring comprehensive data collection and tracking of licenses and key deliverables.
  • Conduct constructability reviews to ensure adequate automation and integration coverage during outages.
