About the job
At TechNexus, we are dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the technology sector. Our mission is to transform representation in the tech ecosystem by providing essential resources and opportunities to marginalized communities that have historically been overlooked. We believe that "Everyone means Everyone." In collaboration with numerous Chicago-based tech companies, we co-founded the Chicago Tech Academy, a public high school located on the Near West Side, in 2009.
Chicago Tech Academy partners with iMentor, a national nonprofit organization, to pair every 11th and 12th-grade student at ChiTech with a dedicated volunteer mentor. This one-on-one mentorship is designed to guide students in achieving their highest career aspirations. If you are passionate about making an impact and wish to volunteer as a mentor at ChiTech Academy through iMentor, we invite you to apply here, and we will follow up with the next steps!
If you're not able to commit to a mentorship role at this time but still want to contribute to our school community, there are numerous ways to get involved, including:
- Engaging with students through talks
- Organizing field trips
- Hosting student interns
- Becoming a mentor
- Offering projects for Project-Based Learning
- Providing pro-bono professional services
- Participating in Career Day
- Sponsoring an event
Your time and expertise are invaluable; join us in shaping the future. To learn more about volunteering opportunities, please visit the Chicago Tech Academy website.
