Key Skills and Attributes:Conduct thorough reviews of systems to identify potential security vulnerabilities and suggest improvements. Manage organizational cybersecurity risk effectively. Prioritize organizational risks and maintain a comprehensive risk registry for reporting to senior leadership. Offer security guidance and information system validation following NIST RMF, DoC, and local security policies. Provide configuration management recommendations for information security software and hardware, coordinating necessary changes with relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with vulnerability scanning tools and patch management requirements to maintain operational integrity. Support the transition from DIACAP to compliance with the DoC RMF. Serve as a subject matter expert in cybersecurity and trusted system technology.

CGS Federal is actively seeking a dedicated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with expertise in DIACAP and/or RMF. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in security assessment documentation to support the Department of Commerce's systems, specifically in achieving their Authorization to Operate (ATO). This role is based at the client site in the Herbert Hoover building in Washington, DC. Your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive life-cycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) management through all six steps of the RMF process, ensuring compliance with NIST 800.53 standards.
