The Role

We are in search of a dynamic, data-oriented, and self-driven I&C Business Development Manager to enhance our industrial direct sales portfolio. This position is crucial for advancing BGS’s success in acquiring new business and expanding our presence in the substantial industrial energy consumer sector.

By employing state-of-the-art prospecting methods and leveraging a profound insight into the UK’s energy landscape and emerging decarbonization strategies, you will identify, engage, and convert high-value prospects (with annual consumption ranging from 25GWh to over 1TWh), creating tailored energy strategies that maximize value, sustainability, and profitability for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and secure high-consumption industrial energy clients (25GWh+) within electricity and gas sectors.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and digital prospecting tools to target key prospects and discover new business avenues.
  • Formulate and implement a robust growth strategy emphasizing financial performance, client value, and sustainable outcomes.
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle, including tender management, pricing strategy, deal structuring, and negotiation, ensuring both commercial success and client satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (Trading Desk, Product, and Operations) to create flexible, innovative contract structures and integrated decarbonization offerings.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, policy changes, and technological advancements within the energy sector.
  • Effectively communicate complex energy solutions, establishing BGS as a trusted and forward-thinking energy partner.
