Key Responsibilities:Maintenance and repair of air-cooled chillers, pumps, water systems, and VRF systems. Testing automated building control systems for voltage input and output. Working on a variety of units including split package systems, residential styles, mini-splits, VAVs, and AHUs. Using a multi-meter for voltage checks and a torch for brazing. Preparing work orders and cost estimates for materials. Training and evaluating the performance of assigned technicians. Essential Skills:Ability to work independently and initiate tasks. Proficient in reading schematic diagrams. Understanding of the refrigeration cycle with troubleshooting capabilities for mechanical issues. Advanced knowledge of HVAC units for effective preventive maintenance. Ability to identify and utilize necessary software for maintenance and repair of chillers. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

TechFlow, in partnership with EMI Services, is hiring a Commercial/Industrial HVAC Chiller Mechanic for our team at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. This position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and upgrading commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including multi-ton chillers. The role requires a strong grasp of HVAC principles and the ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including chillers
  • Troubleshoot and correct system malfunctions
  • Modernize and upgrade HVAC systems as needed

Required Qualifications

  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Experience servicing and repairing a range of HVAC systems, especially multi-ton chillers
  • Strong diagnostic skills and a thorough understanding of HVAC operations
