Role Overview: Head of Sales (Player-Coach)

GovSignals is searching for a Head of Sales to join the team in New York, NY. This leader will report directly to the CRO co-founder and play a central role in shaping the company’s go-to-market approach, sales processes, and team structure.

The position calls for someone with hands-on sales leadership experience, someone who has built teams from the ground up, designed sales processes, recruited initial team members, and created effective playbooks. The right candidate thrives on both closing deals and building systems that enable others to succeed.

What You Will Do

  • Spend about 60% of your time actively managing and closing your own accounts, setting the pace for the team.
  • Dedicate the remaining 40% to developing the sales team, refining systems, and improving processes.
  • Step in to assist team members with challenges and support complex deal strategies.
  • Drive operational improvements when processes break down.
  • Help shape and execute the overall sales and go-to-market strategy.
