About the Company
Our client is a rapidly expanding B2B marketplace based in London, facilitating connections between enterprise buyers and specialist service providers throughout the UK and Europe. Supported by a prominent growth equity fund, they have achieved an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of £20 million and are currently establishing the commercial framework necessary to scale to £100 million. The founding team boasts backgrounds from industry leaders such as Bain, Deliveroo, and Stripe, and the organization is entering an incredibly ambitious growth phase.
The Role
As the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire revenue function, which includes enterprise sales, account management, and strategic partnerships. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will develop the commercial strategy, build a high-performing team, and lead the negotiation of key deals. This is a unique opportunity to shape the commercial strategy of a pioneering business at a crucial juncture in its growth.
What You'll Do
Develop and implement the commercial strategy, focusing on market segmentation, go-to-market tactics, and revenue goals across enterprise and mid-market channels.
Recruit, mentor, and expand a dynamic commercial team comprising account executives, business development managers, and partnership leads.
Manage the complete sales cycle for strategic accounts, from initial engagement to closing and subsequent expansion.
Establish scalable commercial processes, including CRM best practices, pipeline management, and forecasting methodologies.
Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to ensure that commercial insights inform product development and enhance customer experience.
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 8–12 years of experience in commercial, sales, or business development roles, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling revenue teams within a high-growth B2B environment.
Strong instincts for enterprise sales, adept at navigating complex buying processes and engaging multiple stakeholders.
A strategic mindset with the capability to actively participate in closing deals when necessary.
Experience in marketplace, SaaS, or platform-based businesses is highly desirable.
