About the job
Join Our Team as a Hardware Support Engineer
At Dexmate, we are pioneering the development of AI-powered humanoid robots designed for both industrial and research purposes. As a Hardware Support Engineer, you will play a vital role within our dynamic hardware team, engaging in hands-on debugging, conducting failure analysis, and providing maintenance for our advanced robotic platform, from internal development processes to direct customer support.
This position uniquely blends hardware and software responsibilities. You will be involved in diagnosing root causes of actuator or PCBA failures in the morning and troubleshooting communication or network issues in deployed systems in the afternoon. Moreover, you will contribute significantly to enhancing our failure analysis processes and capabilities as we grow.
While you may not be an expert in every field, a systematic approach to problem-solving, a keen desire to learn, and the ability to articulate your insights to both engineering teams and customers are essential.
Your Daily Responsibilities
Diagnose and identify root causes of hardware and system failures on our robotic platform, including areas such as power distribution, embedded computing, communication buses, actuators, and sensor subsystems.
Conduct comprehensive failure analysis at various levels including components (e.g., PCBAs, actuators, connectors), modules (e.g., hands, battery packs), and systems (robot level).
Utilize bench equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and inspection tools to characterize signals, isolate failures, and validate solutions.
Interpret schematics and block diagrams to understand circuit behavior and pinpoint issues effectively.
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software/Firmware, and Manufacturing teams to devise and implement corrective measures.
Assist in the bring-up and testing of new hardware revisions, verifying power sequencing, communication interfaces, and peripheral functionality.
Troubleshoot issues across the robot system, including compute modules, motor controllers, and camera systems.
Serve as a technical liaison for customer-reported issues, reproducing faults, identifying root causes, and conveying your findings to both engineering teams and customers clearly.
Create and maintain detailed repair runbooks, failure analysis reports, and troubleshooting guides for team use.
Contribute to the establishment and enhancement of failure analysis processes, best practices, and lab capabilities to reduce the time required for failure identification and resolution.
