About the job
At REGENT, we are dedicated to transforming regional transport across coastal cities by pioneering a revolutionary mode of transport: the seaglider. These innovative wing-in-ground-effect vehicles glide just above the water’s surface, merging the swift speeds of an aircraft with the economical operational costs of maritime travel. With the capability to cover 180 miles at 180 mph using current battery technology (and potentially reaching up to 400 miles with advanced batteries), our seagliders promise a new era of rapid, cost-effective, and eco-friendly coastal transportation for both passengers and freight, establishing unprecedented connections between urban areas, islands, and communities.
Supported by prominent investors and powered by a dynamic team of engineers, builders, and operators, we are evolving from a groundbreaking prototype to full-scale production and are actively expanding our team to achieve this vision.
Role Overview
As a GNC Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining the movement of this groundbreaking vehicle. Your efforts will contribute to developing the seaglider’s flight control logic, ensuring its stability, responsiveness, and safety during transitions between displacement, hydrofoil, and wing-in-ground-effect flight modes. Your expertise will help integrate aerodynamic and hydrodynamic surfaces into a cohesive, intelligent system capable of adapting to gusts, waves, and unforeseen challenges. Utilizing high-fidelity simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and hands-on tuning during sea trials, you will be instrumental in transforming advanced control theories into a certified, real-world mobility solution that reshapes coastal connectivity.
