About the job
About Logos Space
Logos Space is building a proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO) constellation to deliver high-performance connectivity for enterprise and government clients worldwide. The Navigation team designs and builds the software and infrastructure that support spacecraft timing, astrodynamics, orbit determination, and other navigation functions used in both flight and ground systems.
Role Overview
This GNSS Navigation Engineer - Orbit Determination Specialist position focuses on developing GNSS software that converts raw data into accurate navigation products for use in both onboard and ground-based systems. The work includes designing, implementing, and validating key GNSS measurement-processing features essential for the operation of the LEO constellation.
Responsibilities cover building core GNSS software for onboard data ingestion, ground-based orbit determination, and supporting analysis and validation tools. Depending on experience, the role may involve leading or contributing to specific areas of the GNSS stack, such as observation modeling, correction ingestion, quality screening, residual analysis, replay, and estimator integration diagnostics.
The team values engineers who are comfortable in a fast-moving setting, can turn ambiguous requirements into working software, and enjoy collaborating across disciplines.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain proprietary C++ libraries for GNSS measurement processing, estimator integration, and navigation workflows.
- Create Python tools or bindings for analysis, testing, automation, and rapid debugging.
- Implement and validate observation models and preprocessing for code, carrier phase, Doppler, and timing or clock-related measurements.
- Develop interfaces for receiver telemetry and external navigation products, including broadcast and precise ephemerides, clocks, biases, atmospheric data, and correction information.
- Perform data quality screening, timestamp validation, cycle-slip detection, outlier rejection, residual analysis, and diagnostics.
- Contribute to EKF-based orbit determination and state-estimation pipelines by providing estimator-ready measurements, measurement models, noise models, and health metrics.
- Analyze innovations, residuals, covariance behavior, and consistency metrics.
