The Role
Watershed is searching for a detail-oriented and proactive Global Payroll Manager to oversee our payroll operations across the US, Mexico, the UK, and our global EOR workforce. This role is pivotal in managing end-to-end payroll processes, vendor relationships, compliance oversight, compensation cycle coordination, and support for cross-border employment.
Initially, this position will serve as an individual contributor, tasked with developing scalable payroll processes from inception and supporting our growth as we expand our jurisdictional reach and workforce.
This role is perfect for candidates who thrive in a dynamic startup environment, possess the ability to operate independently, and are comfortable navigating various countries, tools, and compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete payroll cycles for employees in the US, UK, and Mexico.
- Enhance our utilization of Rippling and other payroll/HR systems, ensuring seamless data integration with HRIS, ERP, and time-tracking tools.
- Lead payroll system implementations or migrations, such as centralizing MX/UK payroll operations within Rippling.
- Act as the primary liaison for vendors including Rippling, Remote, Mazars (MX payroll/statutory), and UK payroll providers.
- Ensure compliance and quality across all payroll partners while optimizing SLA performance.
- Maintain audit-ready controls, workflows, and documentation across all jurisdictions.
- Define KPIs (e.g., payroll accuracy, timely processing, ticket resolution) for measuring payroll performance.
- Coordinate the administration of benefits programs in the US and UK in collaboration with the People Ops team.
