With $7M in backing from Accel and SV Angel, TierZero is entering a new phase of growth. We are hiring our first Sales Development Representative (SDR) to launch our outbound sales efforts and help shape a strong sales pipeline from the ground up.
Role Overview
This is a founding SDR position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The CEO currently manages the full sales cycle, but we are ready for someone who can dedicate their energy to building our pipeline and generating qualified leads. There is no existing playbook, lead list, or steady stream of inbound prospects. Instead, this role calls for someone eager to create these resources from scratch, working closely with the CEO to define messaging, target personas, and outreach tactics. Every process you establish will influence TierZero’s sales approach for years to come.
What You Will Do
Build the Sales Pipeline
- Prospect into engineering organizations at Series C and later companies using cold calls, cold emails, and creative outreach. Take initiative to generate new opportunities.
- Research target companies, map out org charts, and find the right contacts, such as Engineering Managers facing on-call pain, VPs of Engineering evaluating AI, or Staff Engineers with questions.
- Design and test multi-step outbound sequences, adjusting messaging quickly based on what works.
- Use language that resonates with engineers, focusing on their real challenges rather than generic sales pitches.
Shape Outbound Strategy with the Founding Team
- Work hands-on to define and refine Ideal Customer Profiles, personas, and buying signals.
- Develop frameworks to qualify meetings and distinguish genuine interest from polite declines.
- Set up dashboards, KPIs, and a repeatable process for pipeline creation.
- Document successful tactics for future use, paving the way for your own and future team members’ success.
