Title: Product Founding Engineer
Position Overview: As a Product Founding Engineer, you will serve as the technical co-founder within a funded business unit. You will share ownership of the product alongside a general manager and a designer, taking charge of transforming the product vision into reality—overseeing its architecture, implementation, requirements, and delivery. This is a unique opportunity that combines the roles of a product visionary, a leader, and a hands-on builder. Your decisions will influence key aspects across personnel, product development, and technology. Just like any founder, as the business flourishes, so will your salary and equity, reflecting the success of your product.
Responsibilities:
Lead the technical vision and architecture of the business unit, ensuring a balance between speed, quality, and flexibility.
Collaborate closely with the GM and designer to define the product roadmap, contribute to strategic planning, and establish MVPs and iterations.
Engage in daily production coding across frontend, backend, and systems—whatever is necessary.
Assist in recruiting and mentoring top-tier engineers, while working collaboratively with other technical leaders across functions.
Foster an open culture by sharing insights, reusable tools, and contributing to the engineering culture as the company grows.
Make informed trade-offs to facilitate rapid prototyping while ensuring long-term scalability.
Address complex challenges with innovative product and technical solutions.
Share tools, methodologies, and insights with the wider Redo team as we scale.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably with a background in full-stack web and system design.
Proven experience overseeing a product or significant feature from conception to execution—ideally transitioning from 0 to 1.
Strong product sensibility, with a focus on understanding user needs and designing for results rather than merely fulfilling requirements.
Action-oriented mindset with comfort in ambiguity; thrives in environments that lack predefined guidelines.
Ability to leverage modern AI tools to expedite product delivery.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities: mentoring, collaboration, and communication are key.
