About the job
Join Thread AI as a Federal Deployment Lead
Thread AI is at the forefront of developing an innovative AI orchestration engine, and we are eager to welcome passionate individuals to our expanding team. Our mission is to simplify infrastructure for enterprises and public sector agencies striving to fully leverage AI and AI Agents.
Based in New York, our team consists of seasoned professionals with a proven history of designing and implementing intricate workflows and infrastructure solutions. We operate as a nimble group of engineers, strategists, and product innovators, with our co-founding members having spent years developing AI/ML products at Palantir for both the private and public sectors.
We believe that a small, committed team with a flat organizational structure fosters a collaborative culture, enabling us to innovate and deliver superior products more efficiently than larger, hierarchical organizations. As AI transforms the way we work, we are dedicated to ensuring it is trustworthy, verifiable, and centered around human needs. This guiding principle informs all our developments and operations.
Role Overview
This position transcends traditional project management; it is a blend of strategic insight, technical expertise, client engagement, and unwavering ownership.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Engage with federal agencies to dissect their most complex challenges, devise a production roadmap using Lemma, and drive initiatives through compliance, political landscapes, and technical ambiguities.
- Navigating the Federal Landscape: Collaborate with federal CTOs to define requirements, map data flows across agency systems, prepare ATO documentation, and proactively identify potential compliance bottlenecks.
- Technical Decision-Making: Design multi-tenant deployment architectures, rigorously evaluate assumptions with engineering teams, and engage in substantial discussions regarding trade-offs between various methodologies.
- Shaping the Practice: Contribute to defining Thread AI's strategy in the federal market, including partnerships, delivery models, and recruitment. This is a foundational role.
Candidate Profile
- First-Principles Thinker: Possess the ability to instinctively analyze complex, ambiguous challenges into their fundamental components, synthesizing technical constraints, political factors, compliance needs, and user behaviors into a coherent strategy.
- Federal Fluency: Familiarity with key federal frameworks such as FedRAMP, ATO packages, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and IL4/IL5, without necessarily being a compliance engineer.
