This pivotal role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of trials and court processes by managing and supporting fact witnesses throughout the legal proceedings. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, outstanding organizational capabilities, and a strong dedication to public service. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide witness management assistance before, during, and after trial.
- Directly engage with fact witnesses, offering support to ensure their attendance at court, pre-trial conferences, and grand jury sessions.
- Handle inquiries from fact witnesses regarding court appearances, conferences, and reimbursement processes.
- Compile essential information for documentation related to witness travel and reimbursements.
- Proactively communicate with fact witnesses regarding travel arrangements, appearance schedules, and any specific needs they may have.
- Exercise discretion to determine when to notify the Assistant U. S. Attorney (AUSA) about special circumstances.
- Collaborate with the AUSA regarding witness appearances and any special considerations (e.g., international witnesses, military personnel, hostile witnesses).
