To succeed in this role, you should possess:A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of relevant environmental experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with software like AutoCAD, Surfer, and/or ArcGIS. Experience with field equipment is preferred.40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification is advantageous. Knowledge of remediation systems and vapor intrusion mitigation techniques is preferred. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Join Essel Environmental, a leader in environmental consulting, as an Environmental Project Engineer. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to conduct comprehensive environmental assessments and investigations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Investigations in accordance with ASTM Standards.
  • Conducting multi-media sampling, including soil, soil vapor, groundwater, indoor air, methane, surface water, and sediment.
  • Preparing lithological logs and boring logs.
  • Writing detailed reports and creating supporting documentation.
  • Designing Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Systems under the guidance of a California Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Managing fieldwork and project sites throughout Northern California, which may include extended field days.
  • Preparing and overseeing proposals and budgets.
  • Managing small to mid-scale projects while supporting larger initiatives.
  • Engaging in a mix of office and fieldwork, with a primary focus on office tasks.
  • Communicating project updates, timelines, and compliance matters to clients, third parties, and regulatory bodies.
