Your Role and Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will implement and oversee the security of OpenAI’s internal information systems, ensuring robust protection against potential threats. Collaborating closely with our IT and Security teams, you will enhance security capabilities, enforce policies, and monitor our systems to safeguard against vulnerabilities.

This position is remote-friendly, with relocation assistance available for candidates interested in moving to San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and implement security protocols to shield our information assets from unauthorized access and misuse.

  • Proactively monitor internal and external systems for security threats and promptly address alerts.

  • Contribute to and uphold our IT and Security policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with the IT department to strengthen our infrastructure using industry best practices across AzureAD, GSuite, GitHub, and various SaaS tools.

  • Guide employees on best practices for securing their endpoints and managing office AV and network infrastructure.

  • Develop innovative sharing controls and monitoring systems to protect company data, incorporating intelligent group management and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

  • Apply forward-thinking security models like “secure by default” and “zero trust” to foster a sustainably secure environment for all team members.

  • Identify and rectify vulnerabilities in our internal systems while adhering to data security best practices.

  • Leverage our AI-driven models to enhance security detection and response, data classification, and other security-related functions.
