About the Role
We are on the lookout for an independent and adaptable Engineering Technician to assist in the development of new data collection technologies. This role involves building, deploying, debugging, and maintaining vital data collection stations.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble aluminum extrusion work tables and fixtures.
- Operate and maintain 3D printers, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct post-processing of 3D printed components, including cleaning, support removal, finishing, and quality inspection.
- Comfortably solder PCBs, data/power connectors, and splice wires.
- Construct and organize durable wire harnesses.
- Interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and wiring diagrams effectively.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and enhance processes.
- Debug and repair robotic systems as necessary.
Requirements
- Proficient with power tools, including miter saws, band saws, and drill presses.
- Experience with FDM 3D printing setup, post-processing, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical harnessing techniques.
- Proficient in soldering.
- Skilled in crimping (RJ45, Molex, JST, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Onshape.
- Experience with SLA or other additive manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with manual mills or lathes.
- Basic software knowledge.
