Joining Brex means pushing your limits, challenging conventional approaches, and collaborating with the brightest minds in the industry. We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, where your potential is only limited by your ambition. We provide you with the tools, resources, and support necessary for your career growth.
AI at Brex
Our AI Engineering team is transforming the way businesses handle their financial operations by integrating intelligent, autonomous systems directly into the Brex platform. We create AI agents that not only provide insights but also take actionable steps, optimizing spending, managing workflows, and making real-time decisions for our customers. By harmonizing proprietary financial data with our product and platform infrastructure, we simplify complex financial operations into automated, seamless experiences, setting new benchmarks for modern finance.
What you’ll do
As the Engineering Manager for the Brex Assistant, you will lead a dedicated team in creating a consumer-centric conversational AI product. This product will assist customers in critical moments—approving expenses, understanding policies, resolving issues, and making financial decisions with ease. You will be responsible for both team leadership and product outcomes, overseeing the design, deployment, and operational management of agentic systems.
This is a highly product-focused role where success is measured by tangible customer impact—improved expense documentation, enhanced policy compliance, and reduced navigation time on Brex—not merely by novelty or research outputs.
Where you’ll work
Your work will be based in our San Francisco office, enjoying a hybrid environment that merges the vibrant connections of in-office work with the flexibility of remote work. We currently require a minimum of two coordinated days in the office each week (Wednesday and Thursday), transitioning to three days per week starting February 2, 2026 (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Additionally, we offer up to four weeks of fully remote work each year!
