Join a prominent multinational energy corporation based in Central London as an Energy Trading Assistant Analyst. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily operations of gas and power balancing functions for our client's European divisions. You will also support the analysis of essential market trends and industry developments, including the implications of regulatory changes on our customers.
This position is located on the trading floor, where you will monitor real-time energy market data and trading screen prices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in customer engagement and query resolution while thriving in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of European balancing, collaborating closely with Trading and Operations teams to ensure effective position management.
- Maintain and enhance various models and reporting tools, including Short Term Fundamentals, Management Information (MI), and Daily reports.
- Conduct additional and ad-hoc balancing operations beyond hedging and trading activities to assist entities and customer requirements.
- Provide support to colleagues in the power and gas desks through customer interactions and query assistance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders such as Pricing, Back-office, and Sales, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and effective dissemination of market insights.
- Execute ad hoc projects and analyses as needed, ensuring prompt distribution to relevant internal and external parties.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the desk, particularly in relation to customer-focused reporting.
- Assist in monthly reporting and data provision as needed, creating and developing a suite of daily, weekly, and monthly reports for customers across European entities.
