AbilityPath is hiring an Employment Specialist in San Jose, California. This role centers on supporting adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities as they pursue, secure, and maintain employment. The position involves direct job training and coaching, helping individuals work toward greater independence in their careers.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Pay: $25–$26 per hour, based on education and experience
  • Schedule: Full-time and part-time options, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

What You Will Do

  • Employment Skills Coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching at employment sites throughout San Mateo County. Support individuals as they explore career interests, secure jobs, and develop independence in the workplace. Adapt vocational instruction to each person’s needs and learning style.
  • Person-Centered Planning: Work with individuals to create and implement personalized support plans. Collaborate with families, team members, and interdisciplinary partners to set vocational goals, track progress, and adjust plans as needed.
