About the job
Join Us as an EMC Field Engineer
In today's technology-driven world, the functionality of various electronic devices is paramount. At SGS, we are committed to ensuring that electromagnetic waves emitted by these devices do not interfere with one another. Our role is crucial in maintaining product quality and safety through rigorous testing. As an ISO17025 accredited testing organization, SGS offers not only EMC testing but also international certification services and tailored EMC standards for in-house evaluations.
As an EMC Field Engineer, you will be responsible for testing large equipment that cannot be evaluated in our lab, such as semiconductor manufacturing tools, machine tools, and large machinery on production lines. While this role primarily involves travel, rest assured that our experienced managers and team will provide robust support for your growth as an iNarte EMC Engineer.
Your key responsibilities will include assisting clients with EMC standard compliance, conducting EMC tests, preparing reports, and managing testing equipment. Remote work is possible for non-travel duties, allowing applicants from all over Japan to apply.
Key Locations for Travel: While most travel will be to Tohoku, Chubu, Kansai, and Hokuriku regions, business expansion may require travel to Hokkaido and Kyushu as well.
Why Join Us?
1. Global Environment: Our EMC team includes international staff, and collaboration with SGS’s global offices is essential, providing you with a truly global work experience.
2. Continuous Growth: We believe that knowledge of a single EMC standard is not sufficient for thorough product evaluation. Therefore, we offer training beyond key standards to foster your development as an EMC expert.
Team Structure: As of September 2024, our EMC department consists of about 10 members collaborating on various EMC testing projects.
Work Environment: Travel is a significant aspect of this role, with assignments ranging from 2-3 days to over a week. Weekend work may occur once or twice a month, with complete overtime compensation. Typically, you will travel on Monday afternoons, conduct evaluations at client sites from Tuesday to Friday, and return home to prepare reports and plan for future trips. Overtime averages about 30 hours per month.
For non-travel tasks, you can work from home, making this position appealing for those living in rural areas or looking to return to their hometowns. Further details will be provided during the interview.
Work-Life Balance: We maintain a clear distinction between work and personal time, allowing for a fulfilling life outside of work. Our paid leave utilization rate exceeds 78% (as of 2023), and you will receive paid leave from your first day.
