About OLIX
At OLIX, we are on the forefront of innovation in the artificial intelligence sector, addressing the urgent infrastructure challenges posed by the rapid expansion of AI technologies. The demand for advanced hardware has outpaced current capabilities, and we are determined to change that. Our flagship product, the Optical Tensor Processing Unit (OTPU), is designed to redefine performance and energy efficiency in chip technology, marking a significant leap forward in our industry.
Role Overview
In your role as Director of Software Engineering - Hardware Integration, you will spearhead a dynamic team responsible for the comprehensive integration of software and hardware across our OTPU architecture, including the ASIC, BMC, and photonic interconnect fabric, from the initial stages of development through to ongoing maintenance.
We seek a visionary engineering leader who can influence the strategic direction of OLIX, utilizing your profound technical expertise to cultivate a high-performing organization that operates with agility and purpose. You will set the technical roadmap, prioritize critical initiatives, and foster an environment where exceptional engineers and engineering managers can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Align Business Strategy with Technical Priorities: Transform long-term business objectives into actionable priorities that enhance both customer satisfaction and organizational performance, while discontinuing unproductive initiatives.
Establish Vision and Direction: Define and communicate the long-term technical strategy for hardware-software integration throughout the OTPU stack and ensure accountability for the organization’s performance against this vision across the entire development lifecycle.
Oversee Lifecycle Management: Lead engineering efforts encompassing pre-silicon (emulation and initialization), post-silicon (validation, characterization, and troubleshooting), and sustainment (ensuring production reliability and addressing field issues).
Build and Nurture a High-Performance Team: Mentor managers to take true ownership of customer outcomes, focusing on building capable teams that deliver exceptional results.
Define Technical Excellence: Establish architectural principles, conduct review cycles, implement systems engineering, and set quality benchmarks that the organization adheres to, from firmware interfaces to photonic fabric initialization.
