Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field. A graduate degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering is preferred. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in construction project management. At least 2 years of experience managing large, high-performing multidisciplinary teams in a consulting environment. A proven track record of delivering successful project management services to clients. Strong business development skills with demonstrated success in driving business growth. Experience in the major construction sector, collaborating with prominent clients across commercial real estate, data centers, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, and natural resources.

Turner & Townsend is in search of a dynamic and accomplished Director of Project Management to spearhead and cultivate a talented team of Project Managers, ensuring the proficient delivery of project management services on significant projects and initiatives.

This pivotal role will be based in our Sacramento office, where you will uphold our commitment to service excellence, fostering the growth of our project management services, enhancing client engagement, and expanding market outreach.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and guiding their team towards success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate robust leadership capabilities while managing a project management team to fulfill all responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Oversee client communications and ensure effective delivery of project management team services.
  • Conduct research on construction market dynamics, including analysis of published data.
  • Generate thought leadership reports that provide insightful analysis of the construction market.
  • Direct the strategic and operational management of Project Management Services across various sectors, emphasizing resource management, financial oversight, business development, and team training.
  • Establish a clear strategy aligned with our Business Plan to drive team ambitions.
  • Foster the growth and development of exceptional talent, promoting an inclusive culture of learning and respect.
  • Manage knowledge by ensuring that critical information and insights from each project are documented in internal databases.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for process improvement within internal systems.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and participate actively in ISO audits.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and performance measurement tools based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) aligned with company objectives.
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external certification authorities for compliance.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of the market, acting as a brand ambassador and developing a pipeline of opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Engage in meetings with senior leadership and prepare and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Utilize internal software for financial management, tracking ongoing revenue, margins, and other financial metrics.
