We are seeking a talented Developer Marketing Manager who will transform our marketing strategy into a developer-first demand generation engine. This role involves executing campaigns, programs, and distribution systems that capture attention, generate intent, and advance our pipeline while building trust. You will be the key driver in bringing our narrative to life in the marketplace.
Our strategy revolves around signal → proof → distribution → conversion, executed with precision, measurement, and a unique Buildkite perspective.
We are looking for candidates who can manage comprehensive campaigns with sophistication and rigor: constructing scalable systems, maintaining quality, and implementing programs that yield tangible commercial results, all while steering clear of generic developer tools marketing tactics.
Responsibilities
Develop and Execute a Developer-First Demand Engine
- Oversee campaign execution across key focus areas, from concept through asset planning to launch and iteration.
- Create initiatives that resonate with developers and buyers alike; ensuring credibility at the top, clarity in the middle, and conversion at the bottom.
- Establish a consistent rhythm that aligns our Labs (Brand Systems, Developer Voice, Go-to-Market Strategy).
Design Campaigns That Serve as Proof, Not Just Marketing
- Transform Buildkite user experiences into impactful campaigns; showcase customer success, technical insights, and strong viewpoints.
- Uphold high-quality campaign standards.
- Avoid strategic drift; if the proof isn't yet available, slow down, refine the scope, and assist in developing what is necessary.
Manage the Distribution System
- Formulate and implement a channel strategy; determine our presence, frequency, effective formats, and what content should be refreshed or retired.
- Create sustainable amplification strategies that do not depend on last-minute efforts or extreme measures.
- Approach distribution with an engineering mindset; inputs → controls → outputs → measurement → iteration.
Collaborate Closely with Sales
- Design effective campaign-to-sales alignment; avoid random asset distributions.
- Co-create essential materials with the Enablement team and ensure campaigns are effectively executed in the field.
- Align on sales-readiness criteria for each program.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen in all activities.
Clarify the Funnel
- Provide insights and clarity throughout the marketing funnel.
