We are in search of a dedicated and customer-centric Desktop Support Engineer specializing in the insurance sector to deliver exceptional technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. The successful candidate will play a vital role in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, installing and configuring systems, and ensuring seamless IT operations for end-users across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first and second-level technical support for end-users.
- Assist users with desktop support for Windows, Microsoft Office, email, and other software-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
- Provide support for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory.
- Configure and support email clients, particularly Microsoft Outlook.
- Assist with collaboration tools, including Microsoft Teams.
- Install and troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft 365.
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate technical teams.
- Ensure adherence to IT policies and security standards.
- Conduct routine checks on system updates, patches, and backups.
- Provide support for headquarters and remote branch networking, cabling, telephony, and other IT requirements.
- Implement, maintain, and support all telephone and related systems within the company.
- Offer hardware support for desktops and laptops.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in desktop or IT support.
- Strong expertise in Windows OS installation and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Good understanding of hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
