Role overview
The Deployment Operations Lead acts as the operational center of the Deployments organization at HappyRobot. This position suits someone who values structure and discipline, and enjoys keeping complex operations organized. The role connects Deployments (including Forward Deployed Engineers and Deployment Strategists), Commercial, and Product teams to ensure accounts are staffed, delivered, and improved over time.
Responsibilities include managing playbooks, staffing models, and feedback systems to make deployments repeatable and scalable. Tasks may involve creating onboarding materials, reallocating resources during a quarter, or helping define commercial scopes for new projects.
What you will do
- Playbooks & Delivery Standards: Build and update deployment playbooks. Set best practices for each stage: scoping, kickoff, integration, go-live, and expansion. Ensure Forward Deployed Engineers and Deployment Strategists have reliable processes for every account.
- Staffing & Capacity Planning: Manage staffing for the deployment team. Assign engineers and strategists to accounts based on complexity, technical requirements, and available capacity. Adjust assignments as priorities change and serve as the main contact for team allocations.
- Delivery Assurance: Track account delivery across the portfolio. Identify risks early and put mitigation plans in place to keep projects moving forward.
