The Role

As a Database Administrator (DBA) at Air Apps, you will play a vital role in managing, optimizing, and securing complex databases. Collaborating with engineering teams, you will design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems critical to our AI-driven platform. Your expertise will ensure that our databases are robust, scalable, and efficient.

You will be engaged in database tuning, backup and recovery planning, monitoring, and maintaining data integrity, working across both structured and unstructured data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems for large-scale applications.

  • Optimize database queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning to maximize performance.

  • Monitor database health to ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.

  • Manage and fine-tune SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB.

  • Implement database security measures, including encryption and access control to safeguard sensitive information.

  • Automate backups, replication, and failover processes.

  • Collaborate with developers to enhance query performance, schema design, and data modeling.

  • Conduct capacity planning and track database growth trends.

  • Ensure adherence to data governance, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
