imc seeks a skilled Data Center Engineer for its Mumbai location. This role involves regular travel to local colocation sites and hands-on work with physical servers, networking equipment, and IT infrastructure. The engineer will focus on setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, as well as accurate documentation. The position supports IMC’s technology needs in the global financial markets.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the full lifecycle of physical servers, network devices, and related IT infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers and networking components in data centers.
- Design and implement rack layouts, cabling plans, and patching schedules to keep operations efficient.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements, ensuring quick turnaround.
- Manage shipments and maintain accurate inventory and stock levels for IT hardware.
- Document physical infrastructure, including cabling diagrams, rack configurations, and operational processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hardware vendors, colocation facility partners, and remote hands teams.
- Support office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems, and be available to work outside standard business hours as needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in data center engineering.
- Proven skills in troubleshooting server hardware, network devices, and storage systems.
- Familiarity with network cabling, fiber optics, and optical transceivers.
- Experience with fiber and optical testing tools.
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems.
