Required Skills and ExperienceHands-on experience with Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) technologies. Familiarity with cyber-attack methodologies and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain, and NIST standards. Proven ability to analyze security incidents and develop comprehensive responses. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive mindset towards threat identification.

About the Role

Join our Cybersecurity Defence Operations Centre (CDOC), which operates from three key locations: Wellington, Auckland, and Brisbane. Our seasoned team provides a comprehensive suite of cybersecurity services, including managed SOC/SIEM, ensuring we effectively safeguard our clients' digital environments.

As a Cybersecurity Analyst – Level 2, your role will involve utilizing various defensive strategies and data sources to identify, analyze, and report on security events that may pose a threat to our networks. You will play a crucial part in managing incidents through to resolution and identifying opportunities for enhancing our security use cases. The ideal candidate will bring experience in incident response, vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence, and possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Note: Due to the nature of our clientele, candidates must be Australian Citizens or possess the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine tasks and assist in defining operational processes.
  • Respond to alerts, incidents, and escalations from our 24/7 monitoring team.
  • Develop security use cases and correlation rules.
  • Implement automation solutions where needed.
  • Assess and propose necessary policy changes based on security analysis.
  • Conduct threat hunting activities.
  • Engage directly with clients on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with team members and various departments to ensure adherence to security policies and effective risk management.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members towards professional growth.
