Role Overview
The Culinary Lead plays a central role in the store’s success. This position combines culinary skill, business sense, and teaching ability to support culinary programs, drive sales, deliver standout customer experiences, and build a strong culinary team.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
- Facilitate hiring, training, and ongoing development for a high-performing culinary team that meets business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to surpass performance targets and build a positive, collaborative culture.
- Provide direct coaching and feedback to support team growth. Address performance concerns in partnership with the General Manager or Store Manager.
Customer Experience and Brand Representation
- Represent Sur La Table’s brand and values by creating memorable, educational experiences that encourage customer loyalty and repeat visits.
- Keep culinary knowledge current by following industry trends and staying informed about products.
