Role overview

The Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Engineer) position is based in Los Angeles, CA, and covers the surrounding area. This role centers on on-site preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance for critical power systems. Work includes supporting UPS, DC systems, inverters, power distribution units (PDUs), static transfer switches (STS), and standalone reserve battery technologies. A proactive approach to troubleshooting and client support is essential.

What you will do

  • Install electrical equipment such as rack-mounted UPS units, batteries, and monitoring devices.
  • Maintain battery cabinets, racks, maintenance bypass systems, battery monitoring equipment, DC systems, and other electrical components.
  • Perform remedial services including failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacement, and battery string installation as needed and on a scheduled basis.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering reliable service and identifying opportunities for additional products.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and work toward effective solutions for customers.
  • Respond promptly to urgent service situations.
  • Share expertise and mentor team members on best practices for site work.
