Role Overview: Controls Engineer – Critical Facilities & Data Center Operations
Location: Buffalo, NY
This mid-level Controls Engineer position centers on the design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation and control systems within critical data center infrastructure. The role suits experienced controls technicians ready to move into engineering or early-career controls engineers who want to stay hands-on in the field.
Main Responsibilities
- Work directly with Central Engineering and Operations teams to maintain continuous reliability of BMS (Building Management Systems), EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems), PLCs, and equipment-level controls in a 24/7 data center environment.
- Support engineering activities, including developing control sequences, commissioning, integrating systems, and creating documentation.
- Navigate BMS front-ends, calibrate field sensors, and program PLCs using detailed Sequences of Operations.
