Position Overview:

As a Construction Intern, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Construction Manager with the coordination of on-site activities for assigned subdivisions. Your responsibilities will include providing general labor support for homes under construction, conducting inspections, and ensuring that each phase of construction is completed on schedule and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training and gain hands-on experience through various tasks related to all phases of the construction process, including:
    • Assisting in the inspection of homes at different stages of construction to evaluate workflow, quality, and progress.
    • Supporting the scheduling of subcontractors and ensuring timely completion of their work, including the management of materials, tools, and equipment.
    • Acting as a liaison between subcontractors and construction management, monitoring work quality and reporting any issues that arise during inspections.
    • Performing minor repairs such as paint touch-ups, caulking, trim work, and checking appliances before pre-settlement inspections.
    • Assisting in resolving customer service concerns by recommending appropriate measures to the Construction Manager to enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Overseeing the locking and unlocking of homes.
    • Utilizing computer software (Build Pro, Excel, Outlook, Word) for various tasks.
    • Meeting with inspectors and conducting walk-throughs with homeowners.
    • Reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and ensuring homes are tidy.
  • Executing other duties as assigned.
