The Commis 1 Chef plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of a designated kitchen area, adhering to departmental service standards while meeting and exceeding guest expectations.
This position involves collaborating with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to produce high-quality culinary creations and manage kitchen tasks as directed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef de Partie or Sous-Chef in executing culinary operations for a specific kitchen or outlet.
- Maintain effective communication with the Chef de Partie, fostering internal collaboration.
- Prepare dishes according to instructions from senior kitchen staff.
- Adhere to food hygiene, licensing, and safety standards at all times.
- Actively work to reduce energy consumption through awareness and practices.
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and report defects to the Chef de Partie or Sous-Chef; report any incidents or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Follow standard recipes and plating guidelines to ensure quality in production and presentation.
- Utilize culinary skills to prepare meals that meet flavor, ingredient, temperature, presentation, and quality standards.
- Properly date and store food, sanitize equipment, and take measures to ensure food integrity.
- Manage breakage, spoilage, and cost control.
- Skillfully use kitchen equipment while adhering to safety procedures.
- Make necessary adjustments to solve problems effectively.
- Participate in meetings as requested by superiors.
- Share insights and rationale to promote understanding of decisions made.
- Foster positive relationships with staff and other departments.
- Be prepared to perform repetitive tasks as needed.
- Execute other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.
