QualificationsAt least 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the hospitality sector. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is advantageous. Strong grasp of hospitality accounting practices, financial regulations, and reporting standards. Demonstrated ability to lead and cultivate an accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence. Outstanding analytical skills with a keen attention to detail to identify trends and facilitate data-driven decisions. Proficiency in accounting software and hotel management systems; experience with Opera PMS is a plus. Fluency in Greek and English is required; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial. Excellent knowledge of SAP ERP.

As the Chief Accountant, you will take charge of our accounting team, ensuring the meticulous management of financial reporting processes and the integrity of financial data. In this pivotal position, you will oversee all financial operations, guaranteeing precise reporting and adherence to regulations. Your accounting expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the hotel's financial performance and supporting the success of our operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities within the accounting department, including general ledger management, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
  • Monitor organizational financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to aid in strategic planning.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national tax laws.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to secure hotel assets and uphold financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with department heads and senior management to provide actionable financial insights that support data-driven decision-making.
