Role Overview: Battery Test Engineer - Electrical
The Battery Test Engineer - Electrical will focus on the testing and validation of battery and battery management system (BMS) components for Archer's eVTOL aircraft. This role involves hands-on work with prototype and certified hardware, as well as collaboration with multiple engineering teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct systems and integration testing for prototype and certified battery and BMS components.
- Work with teams across BMS, Controls, Engines, Flight, Integration, and Systems to develop and execute testing plans for flight hardware.
- Assist with regression testing activities.
- Support testing related to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), short circuit, and electrical design infrastructure.
- Develop and test mission profiles for battery systems.
- Help build digital testing infrastructure for data storage and analysis.
- Analyze test data and collaborate with engineering teams to drive improvements.
- Design and implement automated test equipment as needed.
- Support electrical infrastructure design for Production and Reliability labs.
- Prepare technical reports for FAA regulatory submissions.
