What You’ll Do:

As a Battery Controls Integration Engineer at Archer, your primary responsibilities will include the integration of our high-voltage battery controls system onto test platforms, ensuring the verification of Battery Management System (BMS) safety-critical functions. This role is essential for facilitating the use of electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft in urban air mobility settings. Your contributions will encompass all stages of the product development lifecycle, including development, implementation, validation, and ongoing improvement.

Core Responsibilities and Development Focus:

  • Verification and Testing Strategy: Design and implement verification procedures and test plans across various testing environments including Simulation, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).
  • Integrated Testing Ownership: Lead the testing of the Battery Management System (BMS) controls hardware/software integrated system functionalities on safety-critical components, utilizing HIL, SIL, and high-voltage (HV) integrated labs.
  • Automation and Infrastructure: Update and maintain automated test cases in alignment with BMS functionality development for effective verification and regression testing, particularly in model-based environments.
  • Test System Development: Offer commissioning and maintenance support for the comprehensive testing infrastructure required for HIL testing of BMS controls, algorithms, and software.
  • Process and Infrastructure Improvement: Take responsibility for the automated testing platform, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and automation level for BMS control system verification. Contribute to continuous improvement of test infrastructure, including writing and debugging test scripts for HV HIL systems.
