Role Overview
The Avionics Telemetry Engineer (Level II or Senior) will focus on the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of avionics systems for hypersonic aircraft. This position works alongside various system owners to understand testing needs and provide operational support across multiple test ranges.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, architecture, testing, and operation of instrumentation, network, and telemetry systems for both local and long-range missions.
- Ensure data system assets are ready for flight test and support ongoing flight operations.
- Assist with selecting and designing harnesses for new sensors, data acquisition units, computers, network switches, and other essential equipment.
- Manage and configure aircraft instrumentation to provide real-time mission data and logged data for post-flight analysis.
- Develop and maintain software tools for configuration management, simulation, deployment, and data analysis.
- Document and manage subsystem requirements for each new system configuration.
- Conduct required instrumentation, network, and telemetry tests.
- Support integration testing, including power checks, sensor calibration, and equipment checkout.
- Work closely with design engineers, network engineers, and technicians to achieve project goals.
- Prepare data system materials for design reviews, flight readiness reviews, and post-operation evaluations.
- Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a strong sense of responsibility in daily work.
