A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, corporate governance, or a related field is required. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of compliance regulations are essential. Experience in a multinational corporation is a significant advantage.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate General Counsel of Compliance to become an integral part of our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will work collaboratively with the CCO and senior leadership to design and execute a successful global compliance program that spans various business units, functions, and jurisdictions. Your responsibilities will include establishing a risk-based framework to identify and prevent noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations, leading investigations into potential violations of Hunter Douglas’s Code of Business Conduct, policies, or relevant laws, and overseeing regulatory engagement and remedial actions as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Compliance Advisory: Offer expert guidance to business stakeholders on a range of global compliance matters, including data privacy, anti-corruption, sanctions, whistleblowing, and third-party risk management.
  • Internal Investigations and Reporting: Direct internal investigations into potential compliance issues, respond to complex regulatory inquiries, manage helpline reports and caseloads, implement effective remediation plans, and provide progress reports to Hunter Douglas leadership.
  • Compliance Training and Communication: Spearhead the global compliance training strategy and develop related materials to ensure that Hunter Douglas staff are well-informed about their legal and ethical obligations. Educate senior leaders on key regulatory risks.
  • Policy Development and Integration: Create, periodically update, and manage Hunter Douglas’s Code of Business Conduct and related policies in accordance with leading guidance.
