Qualifications

EDUCATIONA Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field is required (examples include, but are not limited to, Technical Theater, Architecture, Set/Scenic Design, Building Construction), or equivalent demonstrable skills and experience. An advanced degree is preferred. EXPERIENCEProven experience in technical or engineering roles specific to theme parks, particularly in supporting scenic elements (this includes but is not limited to rockwork, scenic facades, attractions, visual scenics, artificial foliage, and themed concrete plaster). SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIESPrior project experience within the entertainment or theme park industry is preferred. Any involvement in theme park development, construction, or ride and show systems design or fabrication is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Engineer plays a vital role in the technical management of attractions, overseeing budgets and schedules within their area of responsibility. This position is instrumental in ensuring the effective specification, bidding, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, which encompass Set/Scenic or Props.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive engineering support (calculations, designs, drafting, and research) to the Ride/Show teams, specifically related to scenic scopes of work.

  • Evaluate vendor-submitted design documents, including drawing reviews, component selection, calculations, test plans, and results, as specified by engineering management.

  • Update and edit Ride/Show engineering specifications as directed by management to support the successful delivery of scenic systems.

  • Assist the Ride/Show team in vendor management throughout the entire process from bidding, designing, and manufacturing to testing, shipping, installation, startup, and commissioning of show action equipment.

  • Review, edit, or develop testing protocols and execute testing as authorized by Engineering & Safety management.

  • Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to UDX policies, procedures, training, and team involvement activities.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
