Turner & Townsend is actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned Associate Director specializing in Health & Safety (H&S) to join our Birmingham office. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven history in delivering H&S consultancy, acting as Principal Designer, and providing CDM advisory across a diverse array of projects.
As the Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in offering expert SHQ consultancy services to both existing and prospective clients, positively impacting the revenue generation efforts of the business unit.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to contribute to business development initiatives, work independently, and lead teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering expert advice, guidance, and support on various health and safety matters related to construction and design for colleagues and clients.
- Upholding exemplary standards in the Principal Designer role on capable sites, facilitating design team meetings, assisting clients in formulating H&S arrangements and project briefs, and conducting workshops and seminars on client responsibilities.
- Providing guidance on CDM Regulations and relevant health and safety requirements for construction projects.
- Conducting comprehensive site inspections to evaluate various aspects of health and safety, assessing performance, and identifying necessary compliance actions.
- Auditing client supply chains to ensure compliance with Principal Contractor and/or Principal Designer duties.
- Reviewing client management systems to ensure adherence to CDM 2015 and effective management of design and construction processes.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships within the industry, including clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Delivering engaging health and safety training sessions for clients, project teams, and internal audiences.
- Conducting health and safety audits of client and supply chain safety management systems, including verification of successful implementation.
- Assisting in the development of new H&S or CDM opportunities through technical articles, speaking engagements, and bid support.
