Qualifications

Possession of a relevant AI governance qualification, such as AIGP, or a commitment to pursue one. A degree in Law, Business, or a related field. Relevant data protection qualifications, such as CIPP or CIPM, are advantageous. A minimum of 4 years of experience in compliance, data protection, or a related field, ideally within the 'second line of defence.'At least 2 years of experience in AI governance. Experience within the financial services sector or a fast-paced client service environment is preferable.

About the job

  • Contribute to the effective operation and continuous improvement of MUFG’s AI governance framework, ensuring the responsible implementation of AI tools in compliance with the EU AI Act 2024 and other relevant regulations.
  • Offer expert advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding compliance with AI legal and governance requirements, covering both internally developed AI tools and those obtained from third-party providers. This includes discerning when issues pertain to AI governance as opposed to data protection obligations, especially in contexts involving personal data.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to conduct AI assessments aimed at identifying and mitigating risks, while keeping the AI inventory updated. Support fellow team members in conducting data protection assessments as required.
  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate AI training and awareness initiatives.
  • Assist in reporting to governance and oversight forums regarding AI assessments, associated risks, and the progress of the AI governance program.
  • Review contractual clauses related to AI provided by clients and third-party vendors.
  • Engage in upstream regulatory monitoring pertaining to AI.
  • Help address client and regulatory inquiries regarding AI, including Requests for Proposals, Due Diligence Questionnaires, and audits.
  • As part of the Data Protection (Privacy) Team, experience in data protection is highly desirable, including advising on legal requirements, conducting data protection impact assessments, vendor assessments, and personal data breach evaluations.
