Position Summary

In your role as an Assistant Engineer within the Rail Structures team at Olsson, you will engage in a variety of engineering tasks that will enhance your technical skills and understanding of industry practices. This entry-level position plays a pivotal role in developing high-quality design solutions that tackle real-world challenges in the railroad sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in project design tasks utilizing established techniques and methodologies.
  • Conduct entry-level plan production following clear guidelines.
  • Gain hands-on experience with design and modeling software.
  • Support senior engineers with project timelines and technical calculations.
  • Contribute to segments of larger projects under the supervision of experienced team members.
  • Collect and prepare research materials for technical documentation.
  • Mentor student interns by addressing inquiries and guiding routine tasks.
  • Travel to various project sites, adapting to diverse terrains and weather conditions throughout different construction phases.
