POSITION SUMMARY
We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Applications Engineer to spearhead our new Applications Lab, concentrating on rapid prototyping utilizing Infleqtion's state-of-the-art quantum technologies, such as atomic clocks and quantum sensors. This pivotal hands-on role serves as a crucial link between engineering and customer engagement. The ideal candidate is adaptable, thrives in dynamic, cross-disciplinary environments, and is eager to create compelling technology demonstrations that resonate with market demands.
This role involves close collaboration with our Business Development and Sales teams to uncover customer interests and transform those insights into functional prototypes and application demonstrations. To excel in this position, candidates must possess a robust technical background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and outstanding communication skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish, organize, and oversee the Infleqtion Applications Lab to facilitate demo development and prototyping.
- Design, construct, and deploy proof-of-concept systems that illustrate the practical applications of quantum products.
- Collaborate directly with Sales and Business Development teams to interpret customer requirements and craft product application narratives.
- Work alongside cross-functional engineering teams to comprehend internal platforms and adapt them for market testing.
- Develop and implement custom software to interface with existing hardware platforms, integrating various subsystems into cohesive, demo-ready applications.
- Create simulations demonstrating the feasibility of application concepts and contribute to technical publications and white papers.
- Maintain and enhance the demo codebase and hardware infrastructure.
- Document prototypes, formulate test protocols, and aid in the transition of successful applications to product teams.
- Support public and private demonstrations and assist during customer workshops.
