Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of major structural airframe assemblies from initial design stages to certification and manufacturing ramp-up.
- Utilize a comprehensive understanding of load paths, design principles, and hand calculations to create robust structural designs.
- Incorporate design for manufacturing techniques to ensure cost-effective and easily fabricated designs, with preferred experience in composite sandwich construction and adhesive bonding.
- Establish company standards for CAD models and drawings of composite and metallic components.
- Collaborate closely with and mentor engineers across design, stress, and materials & processes teams.
- Provide technical insights on design concepts, balancing risk, cost, and performance.
- Assist manufacturing teams in validating and verifying that designs meet established requirements and specifications.
