The Human-Machine Interaction Lab at Huawei Canada brings together researchers, engineers, and designers from around the world. The team explores new ways for people to interact with technology, focusing on user-centered design and collaboration. Projects span interactive systems, advanced sensing, wearables, IoT, and multimodal interfaces, all aimed at improving how users experience technology.
Role Overview
This is a 12-month contract position based in Markham, Ontario. The AI/ML Researcher will work on developing and prototyping artificial intelligence and machine learning models for next-generation products, including smartphones, smart glasses, and wearables.
Main Responsibilities
- Prototype and implement AI and ML models to support development of intelligent consumer products.
- Conduct literature reviews and collaborate with internal teams to explore new concepts.
- Evaluate model performance, optimize AI solutions, and strengthen product-level AI features.
- Present research findings to internal teams and partner with product groups to move prototypes toward real-world solutions.
Compensation
Total compensation for this contract (based on 2,080 hours annually) ranges from $106,000 to $156,000, depending on education, experience, and expertise.
